Every year the Illinois Beef Association hosts an Illinois Junior Beef Tour where they take 10-12 juniors to industry hotspots in various regions of the state to explore career opportunities within the beef industry. This is a two-day tour that is completely free to juniors who attend, with overnight accommodations, travel, and tons of awesome experiences!
This year, the tour will begin in Springfield at the Illinois Beef Association office on the fairgrounds the morning of Wednesday, May 28, and continue into southern Illinois, with stops including seedstock and commercial operations, a sale barn, a beef processing location, and even St. Louis Airport to visit their Livestock Exports Facility. Below is a list of scheduled tour stops, as well as the link to our webpage that spells out a little more about each stop, as well as the tour in general. A tentative trip itinerary is also attached.
