New Business
1 – State Legislature and Governor’s Office Update
      Discussion:  Communication with Jesse Faber, IAVAT Legislative Committee Chair & Patrick
      Barry, IAVAT Ag Ed Lobbyist
      Action Item:  Understand bill language and priorities as contacts are made with legislators
      in support of agricultural education.  Begin the discussion for a FY23 Ag Ed Line Item Budget ask.

HB 3178 – ILCAE change of members to ICAE
HB 3218 & SB 1624 – University admissions requirements
SB 2164 – school truck transportation
All are awaiting the Governor’s signature
FY22 Budget with Ag Ed Line Item at $5,000,000 approved.

3 – Discussion on the feasibility of partnering with an Illinois university College of Education in the Cook county and Chicago area to establish an urban agricultural education teacher certification degree.
      Discussion:  Presentation and discussion of challenges and opportunities with Anna Ball,
      Associate Dean for Academic Programs, College of Agricultural, Consumer, and Environmental  
      Sciences, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
      Action Item:  Decide how to proceed and possibly form a committee.

4 – State Agricultural Education Curriculum on myCAERT.com
      Discussion: Update on the Agribusiness Library revision, other curriculum projects, and the
      annual subscription to www.mycaert.com which ended on May 31, 2021.  Review letter that
      ILCAE officers sent to ISBE, and a response letter from ISBE.
      Action Item: Develop plan and timeline for continuation of the availability of the curriculum to
      teachers and students.

5 – Sustaining and Increasing the AFNR Talent Pipeline of Quality Employees
      Update on the IL Ag & Food Alliance Workforce Working Group by Tyler Strom
      Discussion:  Review the progress of this Alliance
      Action Item:  Approve, guide, support these initiatives to grow programs and students in urban
      areas   

6 – FFA Convention and Officer Election Update
      Discussion:  Updates from FFA from Mindy Bunselmeyer, FFA Executive Director,
      and Adam Loker, 2021-22 Illinois FFA President 
      Action Item:  Continue to support the FFA organization

7 – Update from FCAE.  View monthly reports and update.
      Discussion:  Job vacancies and candidates to date, Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources,
      and Related Sciences (MANRRS) initiatives, and other projects/activities updates from
      FCAE staff.  Questions/answers
      Action Item:  Stay informed of successes, challenges, and opportunities.

8 - New Member Nominations and Elections
      Discussion:  Review new member nominations and best practices to onboard new members
      Action Item:  Elect individuals for membership and onboard new members.
