CDE Updates

Horse

As a reminder, ALL coaches and participants will be required to submit Black Hawk College waivers to be allowed to compete on site. These waivers can be found under the Event Registration information on ilaged.org. While on site registration will still be allowed (for non reasons divisions), waivers must still be signed by parents and submitted during registration. If you have waivers signed and returned ahead of time, we do ask that you upload them to ilaged.org Event Registration to ensure they are not forgotten on the day of the contest and to assist in the ease of organizing waivers to be submitted to the host site.

Masks will also be required to be worn by all coaches and participants for the duration of the contest.

Failure to abide by required COVID guidelines established by the host may be grounds for disqualification or ejection from the event.

Rules and resources for the event can be found here.

Forestry

While the early bird registration deadline has passed, registration will remain open for the event at the full registration rate up until the contest under Event Registration on ilaged.org. Masks will be required to be worn by all coaches and participants while indoors.

Rules and resources for the event can be found here.

Land Use

Updated rules and resources are now posted for the State Land Use CDE (here). Please note, this includes an updated Illinois Soils Field Book containing information pertaining to both Homesite and Ag Use that will be evaluated during this year’s contest. Also new this year, a clipboard with the 4-H slope finder will be the only “technology” that is permitted (hand levels will not be allowed to calculate slope). Registration is now open under Event Registration on ilaged.org. Please note, waivers and masks will also be required for all coaches and participants.

Ag Sales

Following precedent, the product for the Illinois Ag Sales contest will align with the National FFA contest product. However, the CDE committee and IAVAT Board of Directors has chosen to eliminate goat and poultry products from consideration at our state event in an effort to keep the product list more concise at the state level. Contest rules and resources can be found on ilaged.org (here). Registration and signup for presentation times will be based upon results submitted from district qualifying events (due November 6). Specific COVID guidelines for the event will be shared closer to the event.

Future Contests

We will continue to share information regarding state contests as details are finalized with host sites and contest leadership. Please continue to be patient for this information as we work through the challenges of returning to in person events.

Trading Post

As a reminder, contest registrations may be traded using the Advisor's Trading Post (here). This allows for chapters that miss a contest registration deadline to purchase registrations from a chapter that originally registered and are unable to use some or all of their registrations. If you need assistance or have any questions about the Advisor’s Trading Post or ilaged.org registration in general, please contact Patti Davis (pdavis@illinoisffa.org).
