Skillathon
at University of Illinois
Champaign, Ford, Iroquois, and Vermilion County 4-H is hosting a
Livestock Skillathon Contest for 4-H and FFA Members ages 8-18. A short
workshop will follow after the contest is concluded.
This
skillathon event will prepare members with the knowledge they will need for the
Superior Young Producers Skillathon which is held annually at the Illinois
State Fair.
Contest
will include a livestock knowledge quiz, hay judging, wool judging, and
identification of breeds, equipment, meat cuts, and feeds.
This
event is open to all 4-Her's and FFA members across the state and will be will
be held on Saturday,
November 5 from 9am to noon at the Animal Sciences Lab on University of
Illinois at Urbana-Champaign's campus.
Registration
for this event is $5 and lunch will be provided afterwards.
Please
bring your own notebook/pens/clipboards.
