Calling All Ag Teachers,

Happy Fall!  We hope your school year is off to a great start.  It’s easy to see that Illinois Foundation FFA makes an incredible impact on over 19,000 FFA members throughout the state. The goal for the 2019 - 2020 collection drive is $325,000. It’s only with your help, we can achieve and exceed this goal and continue providing countless opportunities to Illinois FFA members.

The Illinois Foundation FFA kicks off the 2019 – 2020 Local Collection Drive today!  Please take a moment to review the steps for the Collection Drive listed below.  If you have questions or need help, contact us.  We have volunteers ready to help and mentor you for the Local Collection Drive, we will help connect you and lend assistance in any way that we can.

Thank you to the many individual donors, corporate sponsors, community members and FFA supporters who continue to contribute to the Local Collection Drives and the countless other donations of time and money. Illinois Foundation FFA and Illinois Association FFA extends gratitude to each of you for your part in building exceptional leaders for FFA and Agriculture programs.

Sincerely,

Mindy Bunselmeyer

Steps to Completing Your Foundation Transmittal

  1. Complete chapter transmittal - One was provided in the Foundation Collection Drive folder given to the advisor at their fall section meeting or Beginning Advisors conference.  You may also contact Tammy at the FFA Center tyard@illinoisffa.org for a copy.
  • Write date at top of the transmittal sheet.
  • Write amount of donor’s contribution in ‘new amount’ column.
  • Check name and address for accuracy and make any changes directly on the transmittal.
  • List any new donors on the blank transmittal sheets. Please get the complete mailing address for each new donor. Please write/print clearly. We do send a thank you note to every donor, so it is important that we have their correct mailing address.
  • Write the name, e-mail and phone number of who is submitting the donations and transmittal sheet. This will be the person contacted if we have any questions about the submission.
  • Make a copy for yourself and mail a copy of the transmittal along with your checks by certified mail to:

    Illinois National Bank

    Trust Department

    322 East Capitol Avenue

    Springfield, IL 62701-1710

  • Highly recommend the money and transmittal be sent to the bank by Certified Mail and PLEASE keep your receipt.
  1. EACH TIME you send money, send along a new transmittal sheet with only those donations filled in to match the money.
  2.  Certificates can be requested by contacting Tammy Yard or completing the request form on ilaged.org.  Go go Give, How You Can Help, Foundation Toolkit, 2019-20 Certificate Request Form
  3. Donors who give less than $10.00 do not receive a certificate, but they will receive a thank you letter from the Illinois Foundation FFA for their donation, regardless of the amount given.

If you have questions or need assistance you may contact Tammy Yard at the Illinois FFA Center tyard@illinoisffa.org 217-753-3328 ext. 106.

Don’t know where to start with a Local Collection Drive?  Why not start with a convenient fundraiser where 100% of the proceeds go to the Illinois Foundation FFA via Facebook fundraiser.  Last year alone, over $10,000.00 was raised via ag teachers and friends of FFA Facebook fundraisers.

Facebook Fundraiser Opportunity:

You can now create Facebook Fundraisers for Illinois FFA. It is quick and simple to set up!

  1. Go to Illinois Association FFA Facebook Page
  2. Scroll down to the Fundraisers Section
  3. Click Create
  4. Select Get Started

From there you will be prompted with questions about who you would like to raise money for, the goal amount you would like to raise, and when you would like the fundraiser to end. It is quick and simple to do and it allows Facebook users to donate through Facebook Payments using PayPal or a credit card (and there are zero processing fees!).  We have already had 9 friends create one for this year raising over $1200.00 so far!

If you would like for donations through a Facebook fundraiser to be credited to your Local Collection Drive, please include your chapter name and the words “Local Collection Drive” in the fundraiser title.  If Facebook donors may already have a donor record and a history of years of giving under a business/farm name, please include in the Fundraiser instructions to email their Facebook receipt to Jannette Allotey jallotey@illinoisffa.org to match their donation to the appropriate donor record.
