1. Student Activity at Farm Progress
The College of ACES will be offering daily workshops titled "Visualize Your Future" for FFA members and agriculture students.
Students will investigate agriculture related careers and their responsibilities. After learning about careers in agriculture students will take a career test to find a career path that interests them. With a career path in mind we will discuss the steps needed to be taken in order to reach their goals.
These exciting workshops will be presented by ACES seniors in agricultural education and offered at 9 AM, 11 AM, and 1 PM on Tuesday and Wednesday and 9 AM and 11 AM on Thursday. Presentations will be in the College of ACES Tent at the corner of Third and West Progress Street. Lots of free gifts, including three Polaroid Cameras and U of I swag will be given away.
Registration is not required but feel free to email me if you would like to reserve a spot!
2. Free Illini Football Tickets & ACES Farm Tours
In collaboration with the Department of Athletics, the College of ACES is offering 100 Free Illini Football Tickets to FFA Chapters. The Illini face Maryland on Friday, September 17th at 8:00 PM. These are great lower level seats near the north end zone at a Big Ten Conference game.
The College of ACES will also be offering interactive tours on the afternoon of September 17th. FFA Chapters will be able to participate in tours at 1:00 and/or 3:00 PM at the South Farms. We will have options in Animal Sciences, Engineering, Crop Science, and Sustainability. We expect corn harvest to be in full swing and offer some great opportunities.
