The District 5 Ag Science Fair was held on March 6, 2024. This event was hosted at Mt. Vernon High School in conjunction with the District 5 FFA Proficiency Awards Judging.
Five schools participated: Carbondale, Cisne, DuQuoin, Grayville, Wesclin with projects and 24 students. Thank you to sponsors: Stefan Clenin, Bunge SCF Grain at McLeansboro($550).
Top 6 Projects (based on scoresheet and presentation)
1- Carbondale: Nadya Jayawardene, Environmental Services/Natural Resource Systems
2- Wesclin: Addison Brown, Plant Systems
3- DuQuoin: Adrianna Paige Gossman, Animal Systems
4- Cisne: Mikenzie Alvis, Food Products and Processing Systems
5- DuQuoin: Tyden Griffith, Food Products and Processing Systems
6- Cisne: Deegan Riley, Power, Structural and Technical Systems
The top 6 projects received cash awards of: $60, $55, $50, $45, $40, $35, 7-10 places $10/each, 11-13 places $8/each, 14-21 places $7/each. Each student also received a framed certificate.
