My name is Jason Mott.  I am the new Principal Consultant for Agriculture Education at Illinois State Board of Education. I grew up in west central Illinois, but have lived and worked in Illinois, Missouri, Ohio, and Iowa. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Science with specialties in Agronomy and Urban Forest Management from Western Illinois University (WIU) in 1998.  I did pursue a Master of Arts and Teaching at WIU in agriculture education, and later, pursued leadership studies toward a Master of Divinity from Lincoln Christian Seminary.  I spent eight years’ working in Agriculture sales and service as an agronomist, a salesman, and precision farming coordinator where I managed 120,000 acres for my customers.  I have a managed a restaurant, been a police officer, a full-time minister, an office manager, and a building and grounds maintenance professional. I also have a small business restoring and refinishing midcentury modern furniture.  I am excited to return to my agriculture roots and to bring my experience and passion to Agriculture Education in the Career and Technical Education Department of ISBE.
