I just wanted to quickly share the plan for the State Ag Communications CDE this summer. At this time, it is the recommendation of both CDE Committee and the IAVAT Board to continue using the National FFA Handbook for the event. This includes the changes that National FFA has made in the past year.

The media plan proposal and media plan pitch with the announced scenario have been removed. The now combined editing and communications exam, “Writing Mechanics,” will be used. Teams will begin their event with a press conference followed by a question-and-answer session. Each team will collaborate on their practicums, determining their message, creating their communications plan and completing their practicums (Feature story, Magazine layout, Broadcast Production and a Social Media Plan.
