  1. Illinois Farm Bureau Harvest for All FFA Program Launch & Updates

Message from Illinois Farm Bureau:

Hello Agriculture Teachers!

We are excited to announce the launch of the Harvest for All Program for the 2024-2025 academic year! This program is designed to highlight and recognize efforts that chapters are making to serve their communities. Please note that this year, we are asking for submissions to be made on a semester basis due to matching American Farm Bureau’s tracking system. Overall section and state winners will be selected based on their total combined efforts of dollars donated, pounds of food donated, or hours volunteered, from May 1st, 2024 – April 30th, 2025.

Semester Tracking Periods - New in 2024-2025

Events Occurring Between: May 1, 2024 - December 31st, 2024 | Form Due January 1, 2025

Events Occurring Between: January 1, 2025 - April 30th, 2025 | Form Due May 1, 2025

About the Program

Harvest for All is a program championed by American Farm Bureau and lead in our state by the Illinois Farm Bureau Young Leader Committee. This program is all about finding a need, filling a need, and giving back in your community. This looks like reporting ANY community service efforts as an FFA Chapter. This could include hosting a food drive, volunteering somewhere, raising money, or anything else you see fit.

Rules

From May 1, 2024 through April 30, 2025, each chapter tracks dollars donated, pounds of food collected, and the number of hours volunteered for community service efforts.

On January 1, 2025 and May 1, 2025, chapters will use this JotForm to report their calculations for the tracking period. Chapters will receive 1 point for each volunteer hour, 10 pounds of food donated, and $10 donated. A minimum of 10 cumulative points is needed for a chapter to be recognized.

Application

List each Harvest for All event including the following information: date of event, organization being supported, dollars donated, pounds of food collected, and number of hours volunteered. The advisor should be ready to verify that the total amount is accurate.

  1.  Setup Your 2024-2025 Courses on ILAgEd.com

With the start of each school year comes the setup of your students’ digital spaces. Please follow these steps (instructions here)

Login to the ILAgEd.org website, go to your dashboard on the left, go to Account Settings and review all of the information on that page- particularly be sure to update the “Total Year Teaching”, “Years at Current School” and salary range (including 3 Circles Grant funds if you receive the grant).

At the bottom add all courses you plan to teach this year, making sure to also add “Graduated” and “Course Conflict”, if needed. “Exploratory Food and Agriculture” is the commonly used course name for middle school courses. Use July 1, 2024 as the start date, and the course end date should be no later than June 30, 2025. Course Period is not used for data collection purposes and is there only for your ease of use in the case of multiple courses with the same title.

You will also need to add the courses you plan to teach this year into your AET account. The systems do not automatically sync. Review the instructions HERE.

Once you have entered your courses on the IL Ag Ed website and your class
rosters are set for the year, your students may begin entering their data for this
school year.

Contact your FCAE-LPS Program Advisor with any questions!
