Hello and Happy New Academic Year on Behalf of IACCAI!
WHY PARTICIPATE IN IACCAI??
At last Fall’s IACCAI conference, discussion on ways to make IACCAI Membership and Conference
participation more beneficial to members took place. In this year’s conference we are trying to address those requests to increase participation. You will notice some additions to this year’s conference schedule to help foster more networking opportunities and resource sharing for participants even beyond the conference. Why am I pointing this out??
1. Out of 170 potential Community College instructors, IACCAI had 34 paid Community College
Instructors last year. (20% membership)
While many of us value QUALITY, as an organization, QUANTITY of members is vitally important as well. Whether it is becoming a member yourself, encouraging membership for more instructor(s) at your institution, or reaching out to a colleague at another college to get them involved, every individual is valuable in shaping the future of the organization. Please consider reaching out in one of the ways above to help in this effort!
2. Included in this message is a tentative schedule for the conference. You will notice that Friday morning sessions include “Mentoring” and “Exchange of Ideas” sessions. Both of these sessions are designed to give opportunities for collaboration.
There is more detail in the schedule on how this will work, but I encourage you to check it out and share an idea! You don’t have to share your “best kept secret”, as sometimes the little things can make a big difference!
