  SIUC: Horse Judging CDE - Contest Information

D5 & Invitational Horse Judging CDE

The Horse Judging CDE will take place on September 13, 2024. On-site check in will begin at 8:30 a.m. The contest will begin at 9:30 a.m. The contest will be in person at the University Farms. Schools may register 1 varsity team, 1 JV team, and as many practice teams as they would like. Following the state rules, there are 4 students per team, with the top 3 scores counting towards the team score.

 

Please register at the link below. To have accurate record of attendees we ask that all registration be done prior to the event. There will be no same-day registration. We ask that all teams register by Tuesday, September 10, 2024.

Please note that your registration will not be completed until the registration fee is received. The registration fee is $6 per contestant. Registration fees can be paid to Judging Card through the registration link above.

The classes for the contest will be:
Open Quarter Horse Halter
Quarter Horse Mare Halter
Ranch Pleasure
Western Pleasure
Ranch Riding (pattern)
Trail class (pattern)

Patterns are attached.

Check in will take place at SIU Farms Metabolism and Physiology Center (2422 Union Hill Rd, Carbondale, IL 62901). From W Pleasant Hill Rd, turn south onto Union Hill Rd. The Metabolism and Physiology Center will be the second building on your left. Registration will take place inside the building. The contest will take place at the Equine Center (2194 Union Hill Rd, Carbondale, IL 62901). THERE IS TO BE NO PARKING AT THE EQUINE CENTER. Students can walk up the hill from the registration to the contest.

Parking – Small busses and vans may park at the Swine Center as space permits. Parking for large busses and overflow parking will be located at the Farms Service Center (2704 Union Hill Rd, Carbondale, IL 62901). Parking is free. There will be vans shuttling drivers who park at the Service Center and Swine Centers to the Metabolism and Physiology Center. Please drop off students at registration before parking at the Service Center.
