Description:

ROWVA High School, located in Section 4 in Oneida, IL, is seeking an Agriculture Education Teacher and Co FFA Advisor beginning Fall 2025. Mr. Rod Main is retiring after 31 years at ROWVA High School.  Successful Candidate will join Elise Main to be part of 2 teacher program. Mrs. Main is committed to mentoring the successful candidate and collaborating with him or her to determine what classes will make up each instructor’s course load.

  • Agriculture Center 

    • $70,000 Raised by Alumni in Capital Campaign, Completed in 2018

Duties

 The final course assignment is flexible and will be decided in collaboration with the final candidate and the current agriculture teacher. Classes assigned to this position may include but are not limited to:

  • 8th Grade Agriculture

  • Introduction to Agriculture Industry

  • Basic Agricultural Science

  • Agricultural Sales & Marketing

  • Agribusiness Management

  • Environmental Science

  • Natural Resource Management

  • Basic Agricultural Mechanics

  • Agricultural Mechanization & Technology

  • Agriculture Welding

  • Agriculture Engines & Maintenance

  • Biological Science Applications in Ag

  • Physical Science Applications in Ag 

  • Agriculture Work Experience

The ROWVA FFA Chapter has a long-standing tradition of promoting the agriculture industry through agriculture education.  The ROWVA FFA Chapter has been very successful over the years in Section, District, and State level proficiencies, Career Development Events, Leadership Development Events, and National Chapter Awards.  ROWVA FFA is one of the top chapters in the state with a high level of student participation, administration support, and alumni/community involvement. Qualifications

Illinois PEL with Endorsement in Agriculture Education or Career and Technical Education Educator License with Stipulations (ELS). Ability to teach 9-12 is required, but 6-12 is preferred. 

Salary/Benefits

The salary will be determined by the current collective bargaining agreement which can be found on the district's website. The candidate will also receive additional compensation through the Three Circles grant.
