*Sent to FCAE staff and Section 6-7 and 9-10 Advisors.
As we wrap up this week before the National Convention, I wanted to send out some reminders and resources.
-
IAVAT Membership is due by Oct. 31st - new to Ag Ed? For more on IAVAT, resources, dues, and membership, check out About IAVAT (ilaged.org).

CDE/LDE Registration - PLEASE READ - In order to register for a CDE/LDE, your students MUST have both pieces of the CARE document completed. I’ve tried a fix that by-passes that until registration is submitted but could not do it for all events. Once your students have completed both their part and the parent part, please register them for past CDEs/LDEs on ILAGED so that your Section President can enter results and submit to the IL FFA. Submitting results impacts their ability to be a Top 10 Section President.

Rosters and Admin approval of rosters are due by Nov. 1st. If you have any questions or trouble, let me know! Don’t forget that in order to submit rosters, your students do need to complete their portion of the CARE document with the individual code that gets generated for them (you need to give them this code).

Openings - We currently have 2 immediate openings in District 2 - Donovan and Central @ Clifton. Please share with those who may be interested. Additionally, Seneca is currently seeking a high school science teacher that has the potential to co-teach in other departments; Ag Educators with science endorsements are encouraged to apply. Finally, LaSalle-Peru HS is planning to re-launch their Ag program officially next school year…watch for a position listing in the near future.
Best of luck to D2 Chapters with teams or students competing at National Convention: Prairie Central, Seneca, Streator, River Valley/Momence, Sycamore, and Newark!
Congratulations to Chapters being recognized on stage for NCA, especially Normal and Streator who are National Finalists!

Check out Battle of the Best Ag Career from National FFA - it’s attached. (You could use this bracket idea/layout for a ton of different topics - I did battle of the best pest (which agronomic pest is the worst) and it went great.
-
For Plant Sci or Hort class - The Halloween Flower (modified from something I found from someone or somewhere else). Also attached.
-
Crop and Candy Trivia Game Creation Project - Just in time for Halloween - Candy and Crop Game Project
I hope all of you have a great National Convention!
