  New Opening: Prairie Central HS - Ag/Industrial Tech Teacher

Prairie Central High School
, located in Section 9, is seeking a full-time Industrial Technology/Agriculture Education teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The successful candidate will join Kyle Miller, Becky Freed, Kylie Miller, and Tyson Stork. Courses to be taught could include: Orientation to Industrial Technology, CAD, Construction Tools, Advanced Woods, Metals, Construction and Electricity, and Home Maintenance.


Qualifications

Candidates must: be licensed in the state of Illinois to teach Industrial Technology or Agriculture; have the ability to work well with administration, staff, students and parents; be a positive influence on students and staff; and have strong organizational skills. 

Salary/Benefits

Competitive, per the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Prairie Central will be negotiating a new contract for next school year. The starting teacher salary for FY26 is $45,500 with an added bonus at the end of the year. Actual salary will depend on negotiated wages taking into consideration experience and education. A sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 is available. Prairie Central participates in the Three Circle grant program. 

Additional Notes

This position offers a sign-on bonus of $5,000! The Prairie Central Ag/IT staff is award-winning and creates and maintains a positive environment for both students and their colleagues. The Ag/IT department has a strong student-centered focus, dedicating time and energy on ensuring student success. Prairie Central completed an addition on its Ag/IT wing in August of 2024, providing additional support and opportunities for students and staff.
