Oblong Ag Teacher/FFA Advisor
Oblong High School, located in Section 20, is seeking a
full-time agriculture education teacher and FFA Advisor for the 2025-2026
school year. We congratulate Mr. Kerry Travis for spending 33
years in agriculture education and wish him the best of luck in his
retirement.
The Oblong Ag program has 75 students (almost half of the
student body) enrolled in agriculture courses, and all members are in
the Oblong FFA chapter. The Oblong FFA has had much success on the
section, district, and state level. The Oblong High School Administration,
Board of Education, and community are very supportive of the program.
Current courses offered are Introduction to
Agriculture, Animal Science, Ag Business Management, Ag Leadership, Basic
Horticulture, and Horticulture Production/ Management. Courses to be
taught will be discussed with the applicant.
Facilities include a very spacious classroom with an
adjoining office, storage areas, a welding/wood shop, and a large greenhouse.
Candidates will be paid based on the collective
bargaining agreement, including participation in the 3 Circle Grant.
Candidates should have a valid Illinois teaching certificate.
