Admission Deadline Approaching for Online Agricultural Education & Leadership Master’s Program at Illinois State University, Agricultural Mechanics Bootcamp, Summer Graduate Course Offerings


*Agricultural Education and Leadership Master of Science Program

If you are interested in pursuing an online master’s degree in Agricultural Education & Leadership or just need graduate hours to advance on the pay scale, this program (or courses) may be for you.

The Illinois State University Agricultural Education and Leadership M.S. sequence was designed to advance an educator’s skills and knowledge in the field of both formal and non-formal agricultural education.  Through a cross-disciplinary approach, utilizing courses and resources from various departments and programs on campus, individuals can tailor a program to provide the skills and knowledge to advance them in their careers.

The Ag Ed & Leadership sequence is a 36-credit hour program.  Students would take 7 hours of core coursework, 14 hours of agriculture classes, 9 hours of education or technology courses, and 6 hours of research (thesis) OR independent study/additional coursework (non-thesis).

*SAVE THE DATE: Agricultural Mechanics Bootcamp- July 14-18, 2025

This summer, we will again be offering a bootcamp for high school agriculture teachers.  This bootcamp will focus on knowledge and skills in the areas of agricultural mechanics.  The course will be taught on campus on July 14-18, 2025.  More information regarding registration for this event will be available later this spring.  The course will be entitled AGR 431- Curriculum and Skill Development in Agricultural Mechanics. Students will receive 3 hours of graduate credit for successful completion.  Current ISU tuition and fees will apply.

ISU will offer the following graduate courses within the Department of Agriculture this summer.

AGR 431- Curriculum and Skill Development in Agricultural Mechanics (July 14-18 In-person Bootcamp)

AGR 445- Statistics in Applied Science and Technology (3 hours; asynchronous online- 6/30-8/8)

AGR 484- Curriculum for Agricultural Science Education (3 hours for successfully completing any regular CASE institute this summer- no BriefCASEs)

AGR 492- Agricultural Leadership (3 hours; asynchronous online- 5/19-6/27)
