Earlier this fall, Stark Bro's Nurseries and Orchard Co. reached out to Jason Mott, Ag Ed Consultant at ISBE with a problem...they had too many fruit trees! Their current owner is a former member of the Griggsville-Perry FFA Chapter and wanted this to benefit Illinois FFA members and their chapters.
It has been a pleasure working with them to put together a fundraiser that will open later in March, but I wanted to share the information now for those of you who need to get it on your calendar.
In short, the trees will cost the chapter $10-25 depending on size and variety of apple, peach or pear. You can set your own local price for the trees in your fundraiser. Order forms with specific varieties will be available in March. In late May your orders will be delivered to the John Wood Community College Ag Facility in Perry, IL thanks to the support of Director Jody Heavner. You will need to make plans to pick up your orders there.
