Le Roy High School, located in McLean County, Section 9, has a full-time opening for the 2025-26 school year for an Agricultural Education teacher and co-FFA advisor to join a second instructor, Mr. Jason Perry.
An active LeRoy FFA Alumni group has been very helpful with many of the FFA chapter activities and hosts an annual trivia night as its major fundraiser supporting FFA chapter activities. Facilities currently include 20’x40’ greenhouse, landscaping areas, two classrooms and a woodworking shop. LeRoy High School is a well-established 1:1 Chromebook school with top-notch technology and instructional support.
The courses to be taught may include Exploratory Ag & Exploratory Ag Mech (7th & 8th grade), Intro to AFNR, Agribusiness Management (counts as Consumer Education credit), Horticulture, Physical Science Applications in Agriculture, Biological Science Applications in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Intro to Ag, Intro to Ag Mech, Basic Home Repair & Maintenance including Wiring & Small Engines, Woodworking, Career Development & Exploration; these courses may be flexible depending on the qualified candidates specific skills and interests. There is an opportunity to teach dual credit and/or CASE courses depending on the candidate’s qualification.
Qualifications
Current and valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or Career and Technical Education Educator License with Stipulations (ELS); 6-12 certification preferred, but not required.
Salary/Benefits
Salary (BS/BA+0=$42,411 with a range up to $65,000 per experience and education). Benefits per the collective bargaining agreement include a portion of Board Health Insurance paid, $10,000 Board Life Insurance paid, Replex Family Membership, Dental and Vision Insurance available with 100% paid by employee, 10 sick leave and 2 personal days. The district currently offers an extended contract as the school district participates in the Three Circle FFA and SAE grant.
The district also offers a tuition waiver for out-of-district children of staff members, tuition waivers for Illinois State University, a portion of health insurance paid by the district, a district paid $10,000 life insurance policy, and a district paid membership to our local fitness center.
