  Full-time Horticulture Professor opening: College of Lake County

The College of Lake County (Grayslake) is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Horticulture Professor for the upcoming academic year.  Their program is growing and the college has made significant investment in their facilities and infrastructure to support horticulture, sustainable food production, and natural resource conservation.
The Horticulture department at CLC offers an Associate in Applied Science degree as well as certificate programs in Arboriculture, Horticulture Production, Landscape Design, Landscape Maintenance, Natural Areas Management, and Sustainable Agriculture. Our graduates become arborists, growers, retailers, landscape managers, landscape designers, turf managers, forestry experts, natural areas managers, public garden employees and more!

Minimum Qualifications :

Master's degree in Horticulture/Agriculture -OR-closely related field;
-OR-
Master’s degree in another discipline with 18 graduate credits in Horticulture/Agriculture

Desired Qualifications:

Previous college teaching experience.

Special Instructions:
The priority deadline is February 10, 2025. Additional applications may be considered after the priority deadline. This position may remain open until filled. Applicants who will earn the required degree by May 17, 2025, will be considered.

This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position. Salary placement is commensurate with education and experience. An optional contract for the summer session offers the potential for significantly greater earnings.

The minimum 2024 - 2025 academic year (fall and spring semester) base salary range is $69,117 with a master’s degree to $83,790 with a doctorate in the subject field. The base salary range for the 2025-2026 academic year has not been determined.

The hiring range is $69,117 to $122,758 based on education and relevant experience.

Faculty may be assigned to any of the three campuses; Grayslake, Lakeshore or Southlake. New faculty hires are required to attend orientation the week (August 4-8) before the start date of August 11, 2025.
