Agriculture Science Teacher – at Dixon High School
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree
- Current and valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) OR Career and Technician Education Educator License with Stipulations (ELS)
- Available for employment in August of 2025.
SALARY AND FRINGE BENEFITS
- Base salary for the 2024-2025 school year is $38,696 (plus TRS and health insurance benefits, as agreed upon by the Dixon Education Association and the Board of Education.) *The 2025-2026 base salary for teachers will be finalized and updated once contract negotiations are completed.
- Fifteen (15) days per year sick leave.
- Two (2) days personal leave per year.
Dixon High School is a 1 to 1 school. Facilities currently include a classroom, greenhouse, land lab, and ag mechanics shop. The greenhouse was built in 2018. The land lab is a 52-acre plot that alumni help manage. The ag mechanics shop/CTE wing was updated in the Fall of 2024.
The courses taught will be based on the strength candidate with options of basic ag Science, Crop Science, Animal Science, Ag Mechanics, Ag Sales, Marketing, and Horticulture. Multiple classes within the program to count for dual credit through Sauk Valley Community College. The program's goal is to provide opportunities for students with hands-on experiences and for students to achieve Pathway Endorsement.
The district participates in the Three Circle FFA and SAE grant. The school administration, community, and students are excited to continue to grow the future of agriculture!
