We are sad to share that Mr. Dick Petrowich has passed away. Dick taught vocational agriculture at New Athens High School from 1961 through 1994, then taught drafting and landscaping for an additional year at New Athens. He remained a part-time substitute teacher for several years. While at New Athens, he was the FFA Advisor for an FFA chapter that produced a large number of Section, District, State and even National award-winning individuals and teams. During his tenure at New Athens, he received both the Illinois and National Honorary FFA Degree.
Along with teaching agriculture, Dick was a member of the Illinois Association of Vocational Agriculture Teachers where he served as president
