Do you have students interested in gardening, growing produce, diversifying their farming operations, eliminating wasteful turfgrass around your school & town, or addressing hunger in your community?
Then I've got the opportunity for you!
Register for the Food Production invitational contest - May 21, 2025 at Freeport High School at their school farm. The contest runs during the school day and is designed for you to bring as many students as you'd like- just one team of four or your whole class- use the event as a summative assessment!
There is a High School and Middle School division.
Your students will prepare a "shark-tank style" business plan presentation that they will deliver at the event. The team problems were posted today to the CDE page where you can also find additional resources.

Mandatory pre-registration is DUE April 15 on ILAgEd.
If you have questions feel free to reach out. I will host an informational Zoom on Thursday, March 27 at 3:30 to help your team prepare for their presentation. It will be recorded and found on the contest webpage.
