STAR Conferences - Please see the dates for STAR Conferences below, Illinois FFA host a series of Section Team Activities and Responsibilities (S.T.A.R.) Conferences for Section Officer teams.   At these day-long S.T.A.R. Conferences, members of Section Officer Teams are introduced to other Section Officers within the same district and are trained on the responsibilities of a Section Officer.  The Section officers get to know the Major State Officers and begin working on programs being offered to FFA chapters throughout the state.  The officers are equipped with several tools to take back to their sections such as proper Official Dress and an overview of Illinois FFA’s CREW meetings. Section Officers also participate in facilitation training. In this training, the officers learned how to use physical proximity, proper direction sets, and effective processing questions to lead members in workshops throughout the year. The Major State Officers will also present their Chapter Visit workshop to the Section Officers and elaborate on the roles they expect the officers to play in the Chapter Visits, as Section Officers join the State Officers during Chapter Visits. After each S.T.A.R. Conference, the goal is for every Section Officer to leave feeling prepared and excited to tackle their responsibilities for the year.
