Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion Task Force
At a joint board meeting between the Illinois Association FFA and Illinois Association of Vocational Agriculture Teachers (IAVAT) on July 28, 2020, a joint task force was formed to focus on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion within Illinois Agricultural Education. It was decided that an open invitation for student and teacher members of the organization would be welcome to join in the work of the task force.
Two state staff were appointed to assist in the work.
Two sub-committees have been identified:
- Breaking Down Barriers will focus on the policies, procedures, and logistical barriers to access and equity within Illinois Agricultural Education.
- Education and Advocacy will research and provide recommendations for stakeholder learning opportunities.
